Don Groff has spent 25 years in mortgage lending — the last 20 of them running 360 Lending Group, the independent Austin brokerage he founded in 2006.

From top producer to independent broker

Don’s career started in enterprise sales at Dell, where he was twice named Rep of the Year in an organization of more than 600. In 2001 he moved into mortgage lending as a loan officer and ranked #12 nationwide at a national mortgage lender. In 2003 he crossed over to the wholesale side of the business — and saw firsthand how lending really works behind the scenes: borrowers get the best outcomes when someone shops the whole market for them, not when they’re sold one bank’s menu. In 2006 he founded 360 Lending Group to do exactly that.

Built to last

360 Lending Group has stayed open and independent through the 2008 credit crisis, the refinance booms, and the post-2022 rate environment — an era when most independent brokerages left the business. Nearly all of Don’s business comes by referral from past clients, Realtors, and financial professionals. He also holds a Texas real estate license, giving him transaction insight on both sides of a home purchase.

Off the clock

Don has called Austin home for 25 years. He’s a husband and dad who spends his time off running, mountain biking, and with family and friends.
